Thoughts on how trails and hikers start out

Text and illustrations by Frits Ahlefeldt, Hiking.org

Starting points on trails, adventures, projects and relationships can feel like nobody really thought about them, even sometimes you don’t know exactly where the trail starts…

Or the starting point of a trail can be special, celebrated, thought out carefully and like a celebration – the can start almost magically, like entering a marriage. Walking through a gate or stepping over a line, fine square, river, or cutting a string, to take the first steps out on the new path
