Portable comfort zone

Wherever you are, you can feel at home as soon as you are in your tent

My tent, my home

Text and drawing by Frits Ahlefeldt, Hiking.org

A hiker’s tent can be like a portable comfort zone, somewhere that you can relax and feel at home, even though you are in a new place every day. It has always fascinated me how you can feel at home, in a storm, distant beach, remote mountain, in a dark forest, in pouring rain or in a lot of other places, as soon as you are in there and close the door… in many ways it has made me wonder what a home really is

A tent can feel like a portable comfort zone, you can take everywhere, and still be home whenever and wherever you put it up
