Five ways of helping hikers follow the paths without getting lost
Trail Note and drawing by Frits Ahlefeldt, Hiking.org
There are several ways hikers can be guided along the trails, here are some of the most used:
- Local guides and pathfinders
- Digital guides and maps on phones and handheld devices
- Official signs and maps placed in the landscapes
- Simple marks painted on trees and rocks
- Guidebooks, and classic paper maps
