There are several ways hikers can be guided along the trails, here are some of the most used: 

  • Local guides and pathfinders
  • Digital guides and maps on phones and handheld devices
  • Official signs and maps placed in the landscapes
  • Simple marks painted on trees and rocks
  • Guidebooks, and classic paper maps
