Hikers can help document deforestation and planting new trees and forests
Using volunteers and Citizen Science to plant new forests
Illustration and text Frits Ahlefeldt, Hiking.org
One of the ways hikers can help give back to the environment is by taking part in projects to document loss of habitat and forests.
By keeping their eyes open and support local tree planting projects hikers can play an important role. Volunteers will sort and use the data from the hikers to better plan and organize where and how to plant new trees and do reforestation projects
